Was just at a function hosted by the CEO of Luna Park, for Friends of Luna Park where a plaque was unveiled in recognition of their efforts. They are rebuilding wild mouse from the ground up. Capital

  • Ok lets put this misinformation and speculation to bed.   Wild Mouse at LPS has a heritage order placed on it. It can not be altered and must be maintained as part of the operations of the s

Agree, much as most thoosies won't like it - the park is getting really coaster top-heavy and needs more filler. We said this when they announced Doomsday and sadly that's not helped the way we'd hope

Swung by the park last night for Luna Park in the dark/Vivid and in addition to it being a terrible place to have no lights, they currently have the WM cars and some Carosel horses set up inside Coney Island on display. The downside of this is that some most of the classic arcade games and pinball machines are gone, and the ones that are there that require power aren't getting it. Really makes the space feel just like a giant warehouse and really dead.

Also, BD needs queue lights and a 2nd car running no matter what the theme of the night is.

Getting the cars inside Coney Island is a ridiculous effort considering you have to go through BOH then through the side door. At that point why don’t you just leave it there where it belongs and chuck a tarp over them so they don’t get faded? Plenty of room there they’ve kept wild mouse track there too in the past

Yeah i do not have an issue with this. The trackwork being done one Wild Mouse is extensive and it is not scheduled to reopen until Summer 2024. What better way to store the cars than make a static display of them? This then ensures that they are weather proofed whilst giving them a fucntion and turning them into a talking point for visitors and also hyping up the eventual return of the Wild Mouse. Its a shame that the heritage games and pinballs seem to have been removed from Coney Island though-they certainly do give some energy to the periphery of the site. However, its important to note that these were not owned by the park and perhaps the owner has decided to end their loan or they may be required for an exhibition elsewhere. Here is hoping that they make a return or the park sources soemthing else similar for the space.

Visited LPS for the first time today, which is kinda mad considering we only live a couple of hours away.

Took a couple of snaps of the Wild Mouse. The cars have been moved back outside and are under covers. There were no pinball machines inside Coney Island, the space where the cars were in a previous photo was just empty.

There were a couple of pieces of track behind the fence just outside the Wild Mouse entrance next to the covered up cars.

RMC just announced a family wild mouse type coaster called a wild moose. Just putting it out there…

HERITAGE PROTECTED STRUCTURE.

Just putting it out there.

Probs wasn’t the best wording on my behalf. Ik that the wild mouse is heritage listed and that this would never happen. Just thought it was something worth mentioning as, if the ride did need to be demolished instead of retracking it, this would’ve of been an interesting way to go about  it imo.

The RMC Wild Moose looks like a cool ride, hopefully someone down here gets one.

No one needs it the most likely candidate would have been movie world but that’s out of the question as Scooby is getting millions thrown at it, and there will be enough family thrill coasters to go around across the majors in a year’s time anyway that sit in the same spot in a lineup as the rmc wild moose

The park I would recommend one to would be Adventure World. They haven’t added anything major in several years, and they don’t have a family coaster at all. Would also be in the park’s price range and they certainly have the room. Even then that’s a major long shot though.

Just remember the Australia tax. It costs more to ship here, and our construction workers also cost more. Our dollar is tanking right now too, so there is an abundance of factors that mean any price quoted for something like this in USD is potentially up to double in AUD.

My wanting one here was purely a wish. Adventure World is the only place that comes to mind. Could they shoe-horn one into Luna Park Melbourne, like they did with Metropolis (not sure what would have to move, or if the space is now taken up by anything more permanent), and Gumbuya probably won't need a new coaster for a long time.

Lol that's a good one. Are the operations consistently on-track yet?

I'll have to pay Luna Park a visit some time and see how they're going.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen the coaster operate off the tracks.
