Only just realised that fireworks have also been removed from the Carnivale Aquacolour Show this year.

VTP driving more nails into their evening events…

Rumor has it they've dropped the pyro due to animal welfare concerns.

It's a shame, but if that is the case, then I have to respect that they're prioritising animal welfare over entertainment.

If that’s is the case, I am 100% supportive of that decision but they should be transparent about it. No one is going to complain if they gave that reasoning.

instead they gave this, which just comes across as code for “we want to save money”

I think that's a double edged sword.

If they're transparent that it's animals, they'll be accused of pandering to the likes of JFC. Probably accused of going woke or some other pseudo-political flavour of the month.

Have a look at the backlash Dreamworld received when they announced the changes to tiger island.

Put simply, they're damned in they do, and damned if they don't. Don't get me wrong - I like the transparency - and Dreamworld has been doing more 'heart on their sleeve' comms lately while Village continues to persist with 'pay no attention to the man behind the curtain', but in this one specific case at Sea World, I think being vague about their reasons, even if a few folk bemoan the loss without knowing the reasons why, it's probably better than the backlash they'd receive if they were upfront about it.

They will also get backlash for having fireworks previously because people love to be outraged.

Probably lies, it's the animals fault.

MW blamed the guest for DD changed cycle, now Sea World all of a sudden cares about how noise affects fish.

SW housing a Polar Bear on the GC, tells me all I need to know.

Probably a Village cost saving tactic.

It’s not the first time the theme parks have had some miscommunication, so that could be what it comes down too.

There at the moment. I must say one thing that is really bugging me is lots of guests who don’t have wristbands who clearly just stayed from the day. Im all for cutting costs but its a bit of a slap in the face to those who have purchased tickets to see the staff not really care or police it.

I’m sure there are a few day guests that have remained, but worth remembering those entering after the park is deemed clear of day guests are not given a wristband.

Whilst it’s essentially the same as last year I was happy with tonight, everything ran fairly smoothly and they had 2 trains running on Levi.

Oh my bad I didn’t actually realise this, but it still makes me wonder though. They certainly don’t clear the park out. Would have been pretty easy just to stay in.

yep agree we actually had a really good night operations on Levi were actually really good!

*i haven’t been to Carnivale this year*
but speaking off of Fright Nights last year, i noticed as it hit 5 food & bev and operations staff were asking to see the wristbands and if they were a day guest they weren’t allowed to be served or ride, so im guessing sea world do the same thing as well. Security do normally walk around and get all day guests out.
