Yeah something has been posted about that 'shed' being constructed, but why are the sound stages off limits this year?

Thor 3 begins principal photography in July, which will probably last 3-4 months. 

That pretty much rules out the 2 main sound stages (1&2) that are usually utilised. 

I know last year there was time pressure to get the mazes ready due to production running over on POTC and the studios not being available as early as desired. 

I know the movies being filmed are good for local jobs and all that jazz, but from a purely theme park fan perspective, what a pity that as soon as Movie World figured out they could use the studios for Halloween all of a sudden Village Roadshow started being more aggressive about getting productions in.  I used to joke that if you ever wanted to hide a body where no one would ever find it your best bet would be the studios.  Not anymore, this is the 3rd proper big production in as many years.

Thor, Chris Hemsworth, none of the show stages are being used this year 

I thought I'd heard people say Sound Stages 1 & 2 are too small these days for big budget productions like Thor?! 

Thor will be making use of 1 & 2 and the new sound stage that just opened (was it SS 8 or 9 - can't remember). Thor will be the first production in there

Wow okay, I thought they would have used the bigger studios and the brand new one instead of their 2 smallest ones and their biggest one. 

So back to dodgems , western sound stage and the smaller shed being built behind west

Most of the larger stages have fixed scenery/layouts - ie, pools, tanks, preset rigging. A lot re-used regularly for tv work etc

1 & 2 (and the new one) are literally re-set to shells after each production, allowing greater scope for building without demolishing generic sets that are used regularly. 

Thats my understand of it anyway...

Hey Guys  Do you think there might be a Conjuring Maze? At the Terror Tour last year they said one of the mazes would be a maze that has never been done before and with the release of The Conjuring 2 on June 9. I feel as if there is a chance that this could be a maze. What do you guys think?

It's a possibility, but my thoughts are it will be a bigger horror brand, something more iconic than The Conjuring.

Id still love hellraiser. Might be a bit too much blood and guts for the public though.

I still would love a Texas Chainsaw Massacre maze and an Insidious maze! With regards to scare zones, I would love a Purge 3 related zone with the upcoming release of the film which looks really good!

That would be a great maze. I don't recall if someone like Halloween Horror Nights has done that before, if they haven't, they should. So many great set pieces well suited for a walk-through.

Sup guys, not sure what some of you guys may think about this, it's a weird concept, but I think that "Don't Breathe" would be a great idea for a maze this year, go check out the trailer if you haven't already and tell me what you think. :))

The movie looks ok. I don't really see it transitioning to a maze well though..

in what way do you envisage this to work?

True enough. There are a bunch of cenobites that could be used as characters too, not just pinhead. That chatterer thing really gives me the creeps.

I really enjoyed the Film Vault maze a few years ago, and think it could be refreshed with a little more scene based walkthrough in place of some of fenced/foggy areas (but not entirely in place of as I think for effect that was brilliant)
