No, I’m not forgetting it. It’s not themed to a fireworks factory though. It’s a largely open shed.

Aside from the boxes of fireworks and a giant rocket you speed past?

The roof isnt like a roof either, its like timber floorboards. Maybe the second floor of a fireworks factory?

Its hardly disney or universal, but its not like they made no effort to the back story.

The roof is DEFINITELY 'like a roof' - and that certainly looks like corrugated roofing, not floorboards, but the crates, the giant rocket, and the fact that the coaster train is several large rockets with seats in it, coming out of the 'factory' - AND given that the road runner animations are fairly simplistic... i'll accept the theme - its probably better themed than many other rides on the coast (green woodchips anyone?)

That’s very embellished. Which is what i said regarding the post MW made.

Its all iron, the bit under the rocket is bright, but the other parts where the boxes are was painted to look like floor boards. Brown with black lines for joins, knots, etc. I doubt they have kept it nice and fresh though, given the lack of cosmetic upkeep in their parks anyway, so the qld sun has probably killed it and its just an oxidised mess, but you can see the "effect" in videos.

Regardless, its about on par for village, and the factory is definitely the station.

I remember it used to have a big wile coyote on the front too, like the rocket (train) has run him over and he's pinned to the front like in the cartoons.

Its a shame because village parks seem like a death of a thousand cuts. All these little things not kept/maintained over the years really add up when you didnt really have much to start with. A bit of effort in the cosmetic and visual appeal would make a big difference in the park.

Id love to see some random placement of IP hidden around the park, giving the kids something to look for/hunt around kinda like a treasure hunt. Would keep our kids interested when walking around/standing in line and waiting if they have hidden easter egg type things to find on/in the facades and gardens, etc.

How is it embellished? The back story is on point, and honestly, the ride was probably one of the better themed rides and it's just been left to deteriorate.

Look closer inside the station next time. See the size of the timbers and the construction? They are massive wharf piers, built like an old factory. Same with whats on the roof. There used to be cactii and things in the ride area too, along with the ground looking like a desert, all dry and sandy, not full of trees, gardens and dirt like it is now.

Plus there used to be a really well done mural around the side that looks like wile coyote had met his match after the rocket ride. Even the walk way was painted.

It all looked exactly as they said. It's just a lame impersonation of the one it was based on in germany.

If I am going on the train from Central Station to Parramatta, and I board the train at Central, I didn’t travel through Central station.

I am not even complaining about the theming of the ride, it’s sufficient and better than most kids rides.

my issue was the caption provided by MW makes it sound as if you travel through a separate area themed to a fireworks factory, or at least a noticeable portion of the ride is in a fireworks factory. Hence why I said it was an embellishment of the truth.

It’s almost like there are a multitude of tests and adjustments that need to be satisfied after being closed for half a year and they aren’t an exact science that confirm to a schedule on a website 😮

No doubt my head will be ripped off for this but -

Do you always have to be a smart ass when responding to people (or in general)?

It's almost like they control the website and could push it out to a more realistic date or remove the end date until they have a concrete one...

The post said "I wonder why it would be pushed back"

I think my answer was pretty appropriate to the comment.

And there is bound to be a large disconnect between the maintenance and operations workers getting the ride reopened and the parks web content people who most likely make updates at the end of the day. The dates are very likely realistic. Imagine such a scenario:

-The ride needs to complete 100 cycled with operators before it can reopen. Was meant to be done on tuesday ready for wednesday opening

-Minor issue meant that they only got 80 cycles in by the end of the day so they let marketing know to push the opening back a day

-wednesday they start cycling and after 18 cycles ride throws a major fault. Due to limited hours the specialist needed to rectify it wasn't available until the end of the day with worldwide time differences. Damn have to let marketing know to change the date again

-repeat

If the ride was changed with another 2 weeks further downtime people would be 'up in arms' about the delay. If they only adjust by a day and don't make it people complain they can't give realistic dates.

You can make a fair argument that its crap so many rides were closed. But I think the park gets a pass at a few extra days delay on getting a ride open thats been closed for such an extended period, something that's never happened ever before in Australia.

But surely they would also get a pass for pushing the date out a week or two as they want to make sure it's safe and by the book after the never before happened, extended closure?
