Am I the only one reading that article thinking 'So they haven't started looking yet and won't have anything till 2023 at the absoloute earliest'.

Absolutely my take too, clearly nothing planned of any note for 2022.

Well for me it's good to hear they aren't banking on steel taipan to completely turn the park around

Well they don't need to. Thats what Sky Voyager was for

Me too, it's long overdue. I think I originally read it was going to cost $1,000,000 which in the grand scheme of things doesn't seem that large. Bluey + a couple of cheaper kids rides would be an instant win.

A Bluey ride(s) would lock down the current kids market (in my mind). MW kids offering being looney tunes just doesn't have "kids" impact anymore. My boy learnt about Looney Tunes from Movieworld, and thats just not that exciting when Batman is around the corner who hes seen on TV and T-Shirts and Cartoons ect previously.

And I'm just talking IP here, not even discussing ride offering.

I think Sea Worlds Nick zone is pretty solid with their IP though and still relevant.

I think you HAVE to be looking at a water ride for the park. It’s in desperate need now and it has to he as far away in public opinion from the two home made rides they had, so go super modern.

The two other things the park needs is weenies and restoration of theming to OCEAN parade.
So I really feel they need a nice big splash boat ride, obviously with the theming tweaked for the Ocean Parade theme but Intamin makes an off the shelf model that not only fits but ticks the boxes. Plus the vertical lift is a nice gimmick.

I definitely agree @rappa with adding a water attraction and keeping it away from where the log ride was. Adding it too Ocean Parade would also make perfect sense. But if possible, I don’t think they should use the area behind WWW as you propose. I feel that area needs to be kept free for a future WWW expansion. If they take that land away then WWW will become stagnant and can never grow.

DW does have the land that was flowrider, trolls and the scare maze. That is an area around 180 metres long and 35 metres wide (about 5,000 square metres) but some of the gravel land could be used if necessary.

That then still leaves a significant amount of land for any future WWW plans. And that still leaves us with the entire Blue Lagoon and Log ride (22,000 square metres) to use for future attractions over the next 10-15 years for DW. If they wanted to add one more ride to the Dreamworks area, they would need to demolish the TOT station building, which would be a massive job, but it would gain them a additional 600 square metres too. And while that’s not worth it, they can’t leave that building there forever. But they will probably leave it for over 10 years if we base it off the parks history of SBNO attractions

You got along a new path which is closer to MDMC from Main Street, under GD along the new path that goes towards Corroboree, then up the spaghetti paths to the GD queue

I do like how they are bringing back this classic style of Kenny. Nice little touch.

And they really have removed a lot of train track, but areas like this have been left wide open for guests to walk into

They have had some work done too then, which explains their closure

What has the state of our parks become when there's fanfare over the reopening of a set of stairs? 😂

Dronkeys is completely removed, save for what looks like some new arms that are still in packaging and painted white

A solid amount of family/kids rides are out of action (Dronkeys, carousel, Madagascar, Shockwave, Sword Swing).

though this large mould patch on the ceiling in the bathrooms is a new addition...

Was there today, the Big Red Boat door is broken, so the ride is only running at half capacity and the ABC World continues its descent into disrepair. It's an embarrassment to the park.

Dreamworld… abc kids world is a shit show, as is Dreamworks. They need to seriously up their game in their children’s ride department.
For abc, 3 incredibly low capacity rides in an area that is decaying left right and centre, next to a cesspool of an abandoned river and island. Honestly maybe it’s time to fill that river in, and expand a new abc kids world into the island?

See kiddie rides are the one area I think DW do really well with. I passionately hate ABC kids world, but a couple of really small rides and some slightly bigger kids rides in DreamWorks makes for a pretty decent selection.

Also if ABC kids world and Motocoaster aren't going anywhere, then Motocoaster should be rethemed to the rocket clock from play school. Don't even attempt to change my mind because I know I'm right.

I do agree kids are pretty well catered for most of the time at dreamworld, unfortunately the carousel and the dronkeys are shut so that did limit our toddler a bit.

Yet still leaps and bounds ahead of what MW offers... and a bigger range than SW.

when all operational, Dreamworks has a fantastic array of options. Whilst no longer an area I frequent, a paint job, decent replacement for BRC and 2 more flats would fill that area out really well.
