Sea World Visit - November 2022

Featured Replies

This was my first visit to Sea World in about 4 months, so I was interested to see what else has happened throughout the park since my last visit.

Firstly, they’ve finally removed some of the walls and trusses from the parks entrance. It’s a shame they haven’t all been removed, but it’s a start. And already it feels so much better and inviting. It’s a shame they couldn’t move this into the exit store and completely open up the entry once again.

The Dockside Tavern is closed for refurbishment. Most notably, there is heaps of work happening underneath, perhaps Atlantis related.

Vortex is closed for maintenance and some of the panelling has been removed and it appeared they are doing so touch/patch up work too

Patricks and Ninja Flyer are closed. Is this mesh around the fence of the flyers new?

And there hasn’t been any further works on the flume station site. But despite there being construction fencing, they’ve wrapped it in a black mesh, which makes it look ‘nicer’. But it makes me think it’s going to be there for a while.

That spot where the flume ride was is perfect for surf rider

Since the ride is supposedly moving to another park and that’s the only area they’ve removed from the ride (completely out of no where too), i wouldn’t be shocked.

Definitely strange demolition stopped at the station, must be a reason to only remove it? Could be Surf Rider

I think that was all they could do during Storm Coaster's maintenance cycle. Maybe we'll see some more work during the next one.

One refurbished food outlet has opened, the other has closed to complete its refurb

The floor at the entrance has been resurfaced, hopefully this happens through the entire area as some parts aren’t in good shape

After years of the entrance to the park being ruined by entry photos, it has finally returned to its former self.

The Dockside Tavern has reopened and they have a takeaway menu downstairs, with a bar.

The photo lab at the front of the park has reopened, but they also have this one under the tavern too, which is where you buy backwards seats for Leviathan and some of the merch

And they also have this sign shown the height requirements for all the attractions

First time I’ve realised this, but kids can ride Trident before they’re allowed to ride the carousel!

The photo lab at the front of the park doesn't have on-ride photos - so if you want to get ride photos you need to go to dockside.

I actually thing the various park departments (remember different people are responsible for all these things) deserve some props for co-ordinating to get all the various projects completed the same day and open with Leviathan.
To have the Nick refurb work, dockside and Leviathan all open on the same day was a very nice touch.
Could easily still had rides closed and the tavern being worked on which would have made for a much less polished day.

Good on them I say

The only thing I still don't like with the front entrance is the temp looking airport style barriers. I remember back in the day that each booth had like the metal queue rails for each booth. I just think it made it look a bit more polished. I can see why from an operational standpoint they have done this but I'd love to just see something a bit more permanent set up. However, it's still 1000% better than how it used to look. Overall the park is really starting to look good again, just a few more touch ups and things (like removing the flume etc) and it will make an even bigger difference.

Here's hoping this is the start of VRTP turning the tides and really focusing on appearance like what Dreamworld has been focusing on lately. Makes a huge difference.

Jellyfish Frenzy used to have really nice theming and high tropical planting at the back of it. I guess this was all removed for New Atlantis, but it appears there is still a strip of garden at the back, so is there any reason why this can't return? It desperately needs a separation from New Atlantis by the looks of the photos, so bringing back those high plantings would be perfect

I was really worried how the transition between Levi and Jellyfish would look from the construction updates we got, but seeing it in person, i think it works really well, so I don't think theres a need for any sort of deep planting beyond what is there already...

Does seaworld still have the red train in the station? I couldn’t find it when I visited to park the other day

Nice to see lots of cosmetic upgrades happening across the park. It was looking very tired for a long time. I'd honestly be happy if the next few years are spent tidying up the parks and making them look great again.

the train has been long gone as has the station. This train is, I believe, the one now at Wild West Falls.

Yeah not sure what happened there I can’t delete it now.

btw when I went to the park seaworld on jan 31st there was no where in park to buy tickets for Levi backwards. I went to the photo lab to ask and they said the only way to buy backwards is on the app. So me and my friend went on the app to buy the tickets but when we tried to pay it just said “unable to purchase” or something like that. It happened to both of us. There really should be a way to buy backwards in the park without going through the app.  Or at least make the app purchase easy to find and actually go through
