I'm literally articulating what the CEO has stated publicly?

You are articulating your own perception of what he said… and it flies in the face of many other comments made and information provided

How so? At no point does he say new (when talking about the whole fleet), he says rebuilt & rethemed. The only time he mentions new, is ONLY about the TWO wheelchair accessible vehicles. How does this fly in the face of those comments? Are you saying Greg is wrong in what he is saying?

I've also contacted the park directly just now, they replied with: "We can't wait to welcome you on Murrissippi Motors when they open, though you'll have to wait a littleeee while longer for all the details. We promise it'll be worth it!"  if they were still indeed new cars, you'd be articulating that to guests right, especially when it's mentioned on the website?

Does it genuinely matter?  Does this have a material difference in your life?

It's called a discussion no?

I couldn't care any less, than defending the statements that I made.

Sounds like a standard response from a theme park, to me.

Hypothetically speaking, let’s say you’re right, they’ve completely rebuilt and rethemed the cars, bought two new ones for accessibility, and rehashed the entire ride experience so it’s fresh.

Whats the problem? Is that so bad you feel the need to argue tenfold and then contact the park yourself to prove your point??

It’s a new experience, one they’re investing a lot of money into, is it hard to accept that?

The discussion was regarding budgets, and the additional costs associated with conducting commissioning outside of standard hours. I proposed a question as to if this money was reassigned away from purchasing new vehicles for the attraction. I was then questioned and told that they are still getting new vehicles, contradicting what the CEO of the park had said.

Regardless of the evidence presented, it was shutdown. That is all.

Without being able to question Greg, it's not really evidence.

Mental gymnastics working hard here mate. I articulated what he said in the earnings calls. First as an approximation, then verbatim, both times were still not good enough.

She/He is just sharing their view about how they interpret what the CEO said. Isn’t this the point of a thread/forum?

I also think DW are just refurbing their existing cars to the theming to fit in River Town, going by the statements and media releases. Time will tell what DW has planned for MM and if Shake Shack is correct, I hope people on here are apologetic for their attack on someone’s opinion and vice versa by them… but going by this thread and several other ones, DW can’t do no wrong.

Yes they have you not seen the posts about delays even with no evidence? Even though we still have 2 months until 31stvof December

Yes I have, and again it’s their own view/opinion of the current state of the area. Especially if you compare the progress of WOZ up the road.

I do hope DW can pull it off and open by the end of the year, would be great to see two major new attractions at both parks open in time for the summer peak season!

DW has been battered of late in this thread about delays we don’t even know exist, reason behind it, why testing is happening at night blah. It’s all conjecture.

and no one has attacked anyone. Time to put your big boy pants on, this isn’t primary school.

Haha okay, I stand by what I said, it’s ones opinion.

Now you are getting it.

Can we get back to the part where you said DW commissions the ride and not Vekoma.

I need some clarification on what you said.

As I understand it, bulk of the commissioning process takes place by the property. Manufacture runs the first cycles, before it's handed over to maintenance, and then to operations to complete the required cycles. Bulk of the work takes place by DW, hence my comment on them commissioning the attraction.

Enough clarity for you champion?

Edited by ShakeShack

I believe each manufacture has it's own commissioning program.  I know what Mack do because I have a copy of their commissioning process, but I don't know Vekoma.

The Leviathan's manufacture engineer, was in the control both after the ride opened watching, every cycle.

Like what they've done for Motocoaster for example?

You're getting a little desperate there. Motocoaster had it's opening in 2007 and opened on time.

Moving a maintenance date is as much a Motocoaster thing as it is a Trident thing, and not at all the same thing as a ride's debut opening date...

As for the cars being rebuilt - the control system for the 'new' cars (similar to the treasure hunters in USS) is entirely different and electric, with power isolation to the entire track able to occur from the control booth. This is a system that would not interact with the old cars. If they have simply taken the old chassis, and they are rebuilding those chassis with new theme pieces and electric motors \ controls, i'm on board with that - recycling the old chassis is a bit of a tribute to old dreamworld, while upgrading them to comply with new tech.
I realise it's not what we were originally sold on - but as long as we haven't got Model T's running around on lawnmower engines with zero e-stop ability and restraints that prevent riders from dismounting mid-ride, I think we're ok.

Everybody has some speculation here and either side could be correct. The interpretation from the CEO could go both ways. We're only going to know the truth when things start appearing on track.

Finally The plane got itself some Redbull😄

There's 6 weeks to christmas. we know the ride has completed full circuits, and they're landscaping. i don't see any hint of vintage car tracking yet, but its looking a heck of a lot closer. 6 weeks is probably going to be enough time to be ready I reckon - as long as the weather continues to hold.

Sure, the landscaping isn't going to be 'grown in' and it will take a while for the real 'jungle feel' to truly grow around everything - but that's pretty typical for opening day landscaping. I think Oz still looks better, from what we've seen so far, but JR is closing the gap here.
