Not sure if this could go anywhere else but today I was at Dreamworld and they have started fitting out the old store at the Wildlife Station.

it looks like it will be a Bilby Discovery Centre. It looks like a much larger space for the Bilby. It does seem like Dreamworld is investing a little in wildlife lately, twilight trail has recently opened and now the Bilby area.

I do wonder if this means the area near the Bilby will be shut (kind of opposite the wombat enclosure), as Vintage Cars will be relocating.

Popped in today! Really good exhibit, and pretty big indeed. Had a couple of viewing areas you can crawl through, similar to Tiger Island (notice the dome). Had an interactive touch screen panel aimed at kids that played some cute animations if you got the answers right

Some other animals in there too, such as Snakes and Mice. Couple of empty enclosures, which will apparently be getting Frogs and another type of Snake. It's basically another nocturnal house.

The old Bilby enclosure now holds Hopping Mice.

It’s the little things like this that really help add value without costing the park much

Big question to ask though is "Does this feel temporary?". Because it looks thrown together.

It actually feels the opposite. You can tell a lot of thought went into it.

Not at all. It’s been very well put together. Constructed really well and a great new addition for the wildlife area. The old Bilby house felt more temporary. They now have spinifex jumping mice in there.

There were a couple of empty exhibitions that had ‘coming soon’ signage on them (and not just a laminated piece of paper). It is very dark in there, so if it gets busy in there, expect to walk into others. But the Bilby enclosure is double the size of what they had and has been done very well
