What ride should replace Doomsday Destroyer?

Featured Replies

The position appears to be a combination of both. My understanding is that the area will remain as is until the park determines its longer-term plans for the space. While a number of ideas have been discussed, I am not aware of any active development currently underway.

In terms of the broader park presentation, while the overall licensing agreement does carry some significance through the annualised visits from the WB team, I understand the park has also adopted a renewed focus on overall presentation standards more generally.

The MW layout has always been a shemozzle but today, it's a painful ball ache, at best. Right now, the s/western corner of the Park is lonely, sad as f*CK & boring (regardless if WWF is open or n

  • Mad max dark ride, expand the whole old DC area into a western/Mad Max them. Move all DC statues to the DC area. Remove Justice league and put in a couple of flats themed to DC.

  • What I'd like to see:  Something like Sierra Sidewinder at Knott's maybe with part of the coaster in the building. An Infinity coaster like Hangtime at Knotts, they fit that into a boom

Noticed today that the music and effects in the area have once again been turned off. It’s dead silent though there now.

Are those screens (that i think used to have some kind of mini game?) still showing some kind of generic flame effect? I find that so jarring and weird. I've heard the screens occasionally glitch and show a frozen frame of whatever the old display used to be as well

As far as I can tell, MW has removed every trace of the precinct from their website and the name of the precinct has been removed from the map.

MW has quietly erased DC Super-Villains Unleashed so thoroughly, I’m expecting historians in 50 years to argue whether it ever existed at all.

Only remaining evidence is most likely from these forums lmao. They will probably think we were all insane (To be fair most of us probably are)😭😭😭

No, those were off too. Not a single thing in the area was working.

The strange part is that the park recently did quite a lot of maintenance work in Villains Unleashed, including replacing the old faded billboards, repairing some of the statues and repainting a number of things around the area. But bizarrely, they’re doing all this while also pretending the precinct doesn’t exist and turning off all of the effects and music. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

From the most recent update i've seen from Jaggs, it would appear all of the DC supervillain statues have been removed from the Doomsday graveyard - with the exception of Harley, Joker and Poison Ivy.

TBD as to whether or not that's just for some TLC prior to the upcoming DC themed event - or if they're going to be permanently moved/scrapped.

If the villains area is making a run for it, and they want to keep that 60's ish american town look. I could see the amera becoming Coolsville to match Scooby next door. Or seeing as the movie turns 25 this time next year, they somehow turn the area into a Spooky Island mini land.

I'd love to see a Spooky Island area. Which of these rides should replace Doomsday Destroyer? 😅

Per Movie World IG, the Grodd, Bizarro and Killer Croc statues have been moved into the main entrance/ DC area. It appears to be as part of the DC Heroes and Villains event, but no confirmation as to whether or not that will be a permanent change or not.

I’m hoping it will (somewhat) and we can begin speculating on a new theme for the old DD precinct.

The missing statues have returned… to the entrance plaza!

Some of the old theming from Arkham Asylum has also reappeared!

One of those 2 Skyfliers on the right would work. Or takeover the Showcase hall, put in /something/, then put Dead Mikes on either Doomsday's grave, or the facades between Bizarro and Croc.

If they were to go to town demolishing the whole area tomorrow I’d I want to see one of two things done to DC Villains. One thing I’d want to see them do is tie it back into the western area as it was for decades and put absolutely anything remotely decent in the showstage that at least makes some use out of such an under utilised building that should of been taken proper advantage of for a ride or a new western show as soon as Maverick closed. The other idea i would love is for them to tie it into Scooby considering its right next to the ride and the first thing you see exiting the shop. I don’t particularly if it would be Spooky Island or Coolsville but I would love to see a stunt show with Mystery Inc solving a mystery and unmasking a villain inside the showstage as well. There’s a few ride ideas they could probably barely fit in where doomsday squatted but putting a permanent use to the show stage is one of the main things I want to see from MW in the next decade and putting a show or small dark or flat ride in there would be ideal personally.

Man I love how unrealistic these rides are in scale lol

Would it be controversial to expand the area out to the carnival games and restaurant? Like everything up to the showcase building is Spooky Island themed, that way you can have Dead Mike's as a restaurant and you'd have more area to work with for a ride.

I feel like another potential idea is to make the showcase building a permanent indoor area

Village hate retheming entire facade areas. Have a look at how many times they've re-used the HSD set now.

No, if they're going to reopen that area, it's going to be with minimal cosmetic changes to the current facades.

I definitely see Village just not giving two shits about the area and chucking a cheap ride there and calling it a day but a man can dream.

Or let’s keep DC out of this corner of the park

RegionalParks & Gardens

The DC fatigue meter is sitting at a high, but Village’s direction is becoming increasingly obvious with the recent cuts to operating hours. It’s starting to feel less like a theme park designed for fun and more like a corporate efficiency machine. I hope it doesn’t drag on forever and that the parks are sold ASAP.

What? spend all that money re-theming a food outlet that they barely open?

I mean they could make it where it sells specialty drinks and light meals rather than another full blown restaurant. Perhaps they can move the tacos from the Dirty Harry Grill to there, ease up their load
