Dreamworld wraps up tiger walks DREAMWORLD has axed its Tiger Walk Experience with the theme park planning on replacing it with another animal-themed attraction involving the park's 14 Sumatran and Bengal tigers. Tiger walks have been offered by Dreamworld for more than 10 years and cost $695 for up to five people to walk with a tiger. A spokeswoman for Ardent Leisure CEO Greg Shaw said the new experience, expected to be announced this week, was not offered anywhere else in Australia. She said while the tiger walks were still generating daily bookings it was past its use-by date and put pressure on limited staff numbers. Dreamworld is no longer taking bookings for the tiger walks but will honour all existing bookings until the end of the year.

Another attraction for this year... could this be using The Lair for tigers?

I rarely travel on the Gateway, only to get to the airport. As for the M1 you obviously travel on it at a different time to me as I usualy have no trouble being able to do the speed limit. Your car should be able to easily do the speed of Superman anyway. Worst motorway I travel on is the Ipswich only due to the lovely 9 or so kilometres of roadworks. As for the new tiger attraction will be interesting to see what happens there. Wonder if there will be any upcharge associated with it.

Thanks for the great pics. Pretty interesting to see how it affects the skyline and fares against ToT. Certainly isn't the most attractive coaster around though... I'm being a bit fussy but I really don't like the scaffold-like supports. It'd be cool if they continued with the theme and covered them up a la Rip Ride Rockit (when it first opened). Wishful thinking I know but hey, at least the station is looking good!

Saw on Dreamworld's maintenance page - "Shockwave under maintenance until further notice". I know I'm not an expert on ride operations but this ride has been opened nearly 2 months! I hope it's not going to be a ride with frequent breakdowns/maintenance. Someone who knows more should be able to tell if this maintenance is like a concern for the ride's future.

I bought a 4-stroke mower a few months ago. On purchase, one needs to add oil to the sump. After a further 30 hours of operation, one needs to add additional oil to the sump - and thereafter it should be replaced once a year (depending on usage). Not to mention that in those two months, the attraction usually has the hardest service of it's life, and you'd want to make sure that all those new, unused parts had held up to what they were meant to...
