  • What they should do is have a paid section to the Coaster with awesome theming and better coaster elements and a free section with alright theming and average coaster elements.

  • You can agree with me or not on this one. But it seems like it’s the beginning of the end for Scooby. So the ride is still no where near what was expected (especially after watching the TVC). Eve

  • Finally got to ride and HOLY SHITBALLS what an absolute Doggy's breakfast!! Wow seriously MW, way to go with this one! A pile of cash successfully wasted in taking the Park's best themed 'experience'

Thank you for telling me. Anything happening in the parks in general like new rides opening or stuff like that

Just the new Sea World show that's been discussed at length on a thread in this forum. Not much else that I can think of!

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable question to me!

That explains a lot.

Although Richard's previous post on this covers "asking for photos" I feel that much the same logic can be applied to "asking for updates"...

I'll just leave this here...

You do release you are being trolled??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I’m not trolling anybody. I get it you’re all still pissed off at me I was just asking because I was curious.

So little update on the SDSC (nothing exciting)

rode it yesterday for the first time in a few months and not much change has happened still. no new lasers in the disco room, no upgrade to the poor animations / “projection mapping”. The queue is still bare, the only props remaining are the gargoyle fountain, the two knights by the entrance to the “hall” queue area and three gargoyle statues, other than that there is nothing on the walls.

I’ve noticed that the doors at the loading station are opening/closing...however both sides of the door have a big portion removed (see my wonderful artwork interpretation below - red = part of doors that are removed , blue = part of doors that remain) I wonder if this means they’ll be restoring the doors.

Another thing I noticed is the big physical purple monster that hangs above you in the green screen section has been removed. But no big deal it looked cheap and ugly anyway lol.

After riding it 3 times the animations at the cave scene at the end was frozen each time. Looks like there is still a lot of work to be done on getting the ride up to standards.

Just came from there and the ride is closed at the moment. Must be a busted laser lighting the disco room.......

Noticed the doors were back last Friday. I say they have not been cut down, instead they just don’t move as far.

Doors are not there for start of ride, mechanism is working opening and closing but the actual doors are missing

The doors are there now because I saw them this morning. They're just not attached properly for some reason, so they only close very slightly. Perhaps Movie world could seek the support of someone from Westfield, as they rarely seem to have much trouble with automatic doors!

The doors have been cut. It’s not that they only open slightly, if you look at the top of the door frame the existing door actually comes entirely to a close, it’s just been cut off from about 20cm below the top

That sounds insane. It's only a simple matter of having a sensor attached to the doors that doesn't allow a car to proceed until the doors are open!

I have set these up at work. It really is very easy!

It's only an assumption on my part.

But yeah, simple to have a guard beam, or even just make the section within the ride envelope from foam or similar.

So those doors were always of a design that the currently ‘missing’ part was a crash door so that if a car was to hit then they would swing open.

I think they were magnetic.

Looks like the crash part has been removed.

I’d say thanks to Dreamworld Australia will be forever limited in what’s possible to do with rides.

On another note, I wonder if Aragog is going to be used in some way. He’s just sitting in the dark at the moment....Last time I rode the original SDSC, I swore his eyes were lit up red.

Aragog has been hanging there for ages, in the dark and as far as I am aware there is no power connected to it either sorry.

Frankly, the ride sucks so bad at the moment it's just embarrassing. I don't even like to go on it anymore and hope some improvements are on the way soon.

I finally had the chance to ride the new Scooby Doo Coaster with my wife the other day. Scooby Doo and the live action film hold dear to our hearts for various reasons for which I will not go into here.

I am usually a firm believer of "if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all", but with this I just cant restrain myself. What the fuck have they done to this ride? They have essentially taken what was a world class and world renowned ride and made it a steaming pile of shit. What the ride has become is now an insult to the original ride, and certainly an insult to the words "World Class".

To those who think that they are still to go in and fix it, this it it guys, this is as good as it gets, this is what management consider "world class", it isn't going to get any better until someone wakes up from their deep sleep.

I don't understand who thought this was good enough to sign off on, but if this is what is considered the new "amazing" at VRTP, then you all should be very concerned for future projects.

So I recently got to ride Scooby (within the last two weeks) and I have no idea what the hell they did. My previous time before my current go was some two years ago. When it was nothing but a guttered out ride and resembled a "bunnings warehouse" more than a ride. back then it had more character at least.

I had not watched any POV of the ride so I went in somewhat blind. Kinda makes me wish I was actually blind now. It is such a terribly themed ride now. Apart from the Tiki section at the end.

I did the same for my first ride and even with two beers it was still a major embarrassment to what it used to be. The ride itself is still fun just they have managed to install theming that makes the ride worse and into something I'd expect at a Chinese knock off park not an officially licensed by WB park.

You hit the nail on the head.  MW spent a bucket load of money and made the ride worse and some would say the theming revamp subtracts from the ride experience .🧐

I personally don't have a problem with the new theming, yes it could be improved but the ride is getting old and will probably only have 5-10 years of life left.

I am happy with VRTP where they are spending money towards new rides such as DC rivals, New Wooden Rollercoaster at seaworld, a top spin, and a skyflyer.

So essentially I don't think anymore money should be put towards the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster but only towards new attractions including the new area at SeaWorld that is to feature world class theming including water falls etc.
