Jungle Rush Coaster

I went to DW over the weekend and DW was pumping.  Let’s hope the weather holds up over the holidays and DW have a banger.   It’s been a little while since I’ve been on JR so I thought I would give a little update.

DW are continuing to add to JR, some things are positive and some things less positive.

The rope around the bamboo intersections has been replaced and glued into place.  It looks more durable than the first attempt, but time will tell.

Every time I have queued for JR I have complained how hot and stuffy it was but I am pleased to announce I experienced the cooling system for the first time.  There are pockets it doesn’t reach but overall, it was much better.

The dinosaur poop still looks shit, and I also noticed it is taking DW a long time to get the second waterfall working.

Management of DW and Pico Play ought to walk through Rivertown on their knees and they will soon realise kids can’t see anything through the fencing.  Why DW went with the backyard privacy fence, I will never know.

The bats & water feature inside the main show room look good but I still believe smoke screens should be added to where the trains enter & exit the temple.

Only one TV in the station was on, which was a little strange but for the most, loading of trains was first class.

On the weekend was the first time I experienced a queue of over 10mins and it could be why I never noticed it before because I have never stopped in any part of the queue for more than 1min or the work experience kid has got their hands on the volume control.   The main show room in the queue, I am renaming it to the torture room.  I was in that room for 5mins, and I wanted to rip my ears off.  Multiply people had their hands over their ears trying to shield themselves from the ear-piercing sounds.  Never have I been in queue, anywhere in the world that has the atmosphere sound, turned up to over rock concert levels.  It was that painful, that I only rode JR once.   DW you need to carry out some test and make sure the torture room is safe because 6 hours later my ears were still ringing.  Blaring sounds at people isn’t adding the desired atmosphere.

I also believe as the train passes the windows, it should be lit up because nobody even notices it going by.

I haven't been to the NEW Rivertown, I honestly don't care whether Dreamworld wins or loses by their new rides, I just wished they gave a shit about the guest experience... forget about the manbabies who occupy this chat, and upload their boring photos I'm talking about the kids who carry the legacy of nostalgia 10-20-30 years from now THAT's what'll be important.

Is it Indy at DL levels bad or worse?

Worse, but as I said, maybe someone got to the volume controls who shouldn't have, the day I went.

In my opinion, the guest experience is a much higher priority at Dreamworld than down the road.

Might not be much of a standard compared to the world stage, but for the local area, Dreamworld is shining.

Rode jungle rush several times today. World class operations each time I rode. Lapbars checked and trains dispatched within seconds of sitting down. There was not one ride where we waited more than a minute between last rider sitting and train dispatching. Staff were engaged, friendly, and most of all efficient! Phenomenal effort! 2 trains running all day, even when queue was walk on.

Unrelated but the dreamworld flyer had its more classic gold/yellow lighting on instead of the fairground multicolour lights. Looked a thousand times better, more classic, and in place with Main Street! Hope they keep this!

Music a little all over the place today, strange music playing in wildlife. Maybe because of the street festival? Anyways very strange and didn’t work. Also still far too much Katy Perry and other random radio pop music scattered around the park, I really hope they can sort out some better background music for some of their zones.

0 work commenced on the train tracks. We questioned two ride ops and they both responded and said they weren’t sure it was even happening. That’s a little concerning. I’m sure it will return but strange nothings been done and the staff are in the dark.

Send the park an email, they're currently seeking guest feedback and I'm sure they'd welcome this.

I went on Jungle Rush again today,

The only time I had previously been on it was around pre-Christmas, and was running on a single train.

I assume how it operates on two trains is the standard operating mode, but it's a much shorter experience and feels much less complete, and I left pretty disappointed.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I’ve yet to ever visit when it’s on single-train operation and never been disappointed.

What differed between the 2? Whether on single or dual train, the experience shouldn’t differ that greatly really. One circuit backwards , one circuit forwards ?

Exactly that. each train is running a certain direction.

In doing this, the cycle is cut shorter compared to when it's running on the single train.

With two trains, one train is ran backwards, and one is ran forwards. By already having the trains in these directions it only needs 2 turns on the turntable, whereas one train requires 3 to change direction as a forwards cycle departs the station backwards and returns forwards for the next backwards cycle. When the park is running one train, it completes the innerloop twice and outside loop once, whereas two trains complete the innerloop once and outside loop once.

2 train ops shortens the ride duration in comparison to when they're running one.

I can see everyone else is trying to explain it but feel like it could be made clearer.

During two train operation one train faces each way. On departing the station, each train enters the turntable. each train departs the track on the loop-back that returns it to the turntable. The turntable then drops the train onto the final leg back to the station. Each train returns to the station facing exactly the same direction it left.

Train 1: Forward>Backward>Forward

Train 2: B>F>B

During one train operation only one train is on the track. In order to offer the alternating experience, the train must return to the station facing the opposite way to how it departed. In this course, it leaves the station, enters the turntable, departs onto the loop-back circuit into the turntable again, however in this situation the turntable drops the train back onto the loop-back circuit for a second time, before dropping onto the final leg. As it completed an extra loop back, the train returns to the station the opposite way.

In one train operation, due to the extra leg completed, the ride time is longer and you get to see the loop-back section from both directions.

Train first dispatch: F>B>F>B

Train second dispatch: B>F>B>F

I feel like if you experienced one train operation first, I can understand why the two train operation experience feels 'less' because the ride time is shorter. For everyone who rode under two-train ops, getting to ride the one-train circuit feels like a 'bonus'.
