I honestly don't know when it stopped. When it debuted, it ran two trains fairly consistently. That's why it has two stations - so one train can unload while the other is being loaded.

Yeah, figured that it was similar in reasoning to Superman, which they also generally just run the one train on now.

I don’t know if they even still have the second train, it hasnt been used since before Covid as far as I have seen. Haven’t seen it in the maintenance bay even.

Nearmap shows a train parked and uncovered in the transfer \ storage track in October 2022 and July 2023.

 

It also shows a train parked there in October and November of 2020, but with covers on.

Here's a pic of the second train from October 2022. It's usually there whenever I check the ride, you can easily spot it by the station

I have a memory of JR using 2 trains since 2018. Not an ideal timeframe since thats 5 years but its something..

Could be the case that it changed alongside a lot of other things in the park, then, when they switched ownership ~2020.

New path’s almost complete, now, and it looks a lot like it’ll lead to the castle again, so I continue to wonder what its use will be. Also, they’ve added a small new planter nearby, beside a more permanent sign about loose articles on Storm.

Second train wasn’t there today. They were definitely still running just the one train, but the second one was nowhere to be seen.

The Vortex is likely to not open till after Christmas now with no set date currently

Going next week, can’t believe I’m excited to see a pathway. And it’s not even completely done, there’s still temporary construction barriers blocking off the castle.

temporary closure typically implies it wasn't a planned maintenance period. 

Something impacting that many kids attractions isn't a good thing though.
